Manual Installation

Need help?

Please try the "Manual Installation" first, as described below.

If you still have trouble installing the browser button, you may want to contact us.

Free Browser Button

With our browser button you can freeze any web page with a single click.

It only takes a second to put it there. No installation is needed, just drag and drop.

How to add the button

Make sure you see the toolbar on your web browser. If not, depending on your browser, do one of the following:

  • Mozilla Firefox: Make sure the "View Bookmarks Toolbar" option is checked. Look under the star/folder button.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer: Right-click on the address bar/toolbar area and make sure "Favorites bar" is checked.
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl+Shift+B or select "Always show bookmarks bar" under Tools
  • Apple Safari: Press Ctrl+Shift+B or select "Show Bookmarks Bar" under Tools

When you see the toolbar, you can place our button on it simply by dragging it from here (you can safely ignore any warnings):

If it doesn't work, please do a Manual Installation, as described below.

Using the button

Please notice that you need to be a registered user to use the button. It's free and it only takes a minute to sign up with FreezePage.

If you are a registered user and you have successfully placed the button on your toolbar, it is ready to use. To test the button, go to another web site (for instance, click here to open up Yahoo! in a new window) and try clicking on the button.

When you are viewing a web page and you click the button, the page you are viewing will be frozen automatically in a new browser window. You won't have to go to FreezePage and enter its address.

Tip! Hold down the <Ctrl> key before you click in order to freeze in a new window and continue browsing in the original window.

Manual Installation

If you have problem with the normal drag-and-drop installation described above, you may try a manual installation instead:

  • Drag the FreezePage logo (or any other link) to the toolbar.
  • Right-click on the new FreezePage shortcut on the toolbar and select Properties.
  • In the URL (web address) field, delete the web address and copy-paste the following JavaScript code instead (be sure to copy everything; the code must start with "javascript:" and end with a semi colon):
  • Click OK. You can safely ignore warnings from your browser.
